چکیده مقاله:

The need for remote health care and the increased interest in fitness and wellness demands more affordable, precise, and reliable wearable health monitoring systems. Having direct proportionality to the heart’s pumping, the heart rate could be measured using photoplethysmography (PPG). In this study, a low-cost, Arduino-based heart rate monitoring system acquiring reflectance PPG was developed to record and process PPG signals. The technique uses an optical transceiver and feeds the picked up noise-contaminated raw signal to a conditioning circuitry, which provides a denoised signal in its output. Then, after digitization, the signal normalized and processed to detect the heart rate. The real-time monitoring and alert notification upon complications were made possible through a custom-designed mobile application.
