The Effect of Information Technology on Knowledge Management by Empowerment Mediating in National Iranian Drilling Company

The world has entered a new era; organizations are faced withnew challenges and traditional principles upon which economic poweredand was a key factor in business success, is no longer valid. Knowledgebecomes a major factor in competition and intellectual property has beensustained competitive advantage. This paper examines the relationshipbetween information technology and knowledge management, directlyand indirectly mediated by empowerment in National Iranian DrillingCompany. Questionnaire based on confirmatory factor analysis andreliability was measured by Cronbach's alpha. Population of ۳۰۰ expertsand administrators were appointed. ۱۶۳ questionnaires were collected.The results of this study indicate that information technology has positiveand significant relationship with knowledge management directly andindirectly through empowerment. According to this research, suggestionsfor managers and future researchers are offered.
