چکیده مقاله:

The world today is rapidly moving towards urbanization. It is predicted that by ۲۰۳۰, the global level of urban population will almost triple compared to ۲۰۰۰, and this urbanization process is inevitable during social development and economics. Rapid urbanization provides opportunities for different types of development. In many cases, the pace of urban land development far exceeds population growth rates and contributes to inefficient and unsustainable urban growth patterns. Growth and development are both necessary for developing societies. Still, if mismanaged, they can negatively affect the quality of life of a community and lead to congestion, pollution, and other problems. One of the types of urban development is the scattered city. In the present study, the indicators of this approach in the form of physical, environmental, economic, social, and managerial dimensions have been studied and presented. Finally, the characteristics of a scattered city and the positive and negative consequences of this theory has been extracted, and suggestions were made as follows: Optimal organization of urban uses and activities based on the wants and needs of urban society; Reuse of previously developed infrastructure and land; Creating communication infrastructure and achieving an advanced and integrated transportation network and traffic, etc.
