Psychological Study of Depressive Disorders in Women with Breast Cancer in Iran

Objective: Mental disorders play an important role in the quality of life of women with breast cancer. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to review the role of depressive disorder in women with cancer from various domestic and foreign sources in the past few years.Research method: The present research method was review-library. Thus, the keywords of depression, cancer and women were explored in the search engines of Persian article banks including Google Scholar, SID, NOORMAGS, MAGIRAN and Civilica and foreign article banks including Google Scholar, PubMed, Springer, Science Direct and Scopus. It was searched in period of ۲۰۰۰-۲۰۲۱ and relevant articles were selected for this research.Results: The findings of the study indicate the numerous studies of domestic and foreign researchers on the subject of mental disorders in women with cancer. The results showed that anxiety, especially major depression, plays an important role in the lives of cancer patients.Conclusion: Depression is one of the most common mental disorders in patients with breast cancer. Therefore, in order to improve the level of mental health of these patients, this disorder should be considered by mental health professionals.
