چکیده مقاله:

This research investigated the carbon dioxide-nitrogen separation efficiency of gas hydrates both for syngas purification as a feed gas for petrochemical plants and the sequestration potential of carbon dioxide hydrates in ocean sediments. In a series of experiments simulated under ocean sediment environments, the biosurfactants emulsion and Rhamnolipid showed favorable catalysis of carbon dioxide hydrate formation. This research work showed that a potentially cost effective hydrate separation technology applied to nitrogen-carbon dioxide gas, representative of a flue gas, can be improved by adding surfactants. It was found that biosurfactants give some beneficial effect on carbon dioxide hydrate formation in sediments and might be used to assist carbon dioxide sequestration in sediments or to displace natural gas from hydrates already in sediments
