Cost Evaluation of Ground Systems for Low Voltage Distribution Networks - A case study on AEPDCO sector

Ground systems are a necessary and obligatory part of the distribution network. Its effects on security and immunity are clear and proved. Another part of ground system role is its effect on reduction of losses. Loss is the issue that has taken attention of all electricity utilities especially distribution companies because of its fairly large quantity of it in this part of power system. In this paper, cost and economical evaluation of installation of the ground system for loss reduction has been proved with one practical system in Ahvaz Electrical Power Distribution networks. As it is expected, ground system installation would reduce losses in distribution networks.
