چکیده مقاله:

In this study, the mechanical properties of recycledpolyester fibers (according to ASTMD ۳۰۳۹Standard) were investigated. Since the production ofrecycled fibers with desirable mechanical propertiesis not economically viable, these desirable propertiescan be created in the fibers by various and costeffectivemethods. Simultaneously with the analysisof mechanical properties, due to the importance oflow weight of coating in high thickness, the densityof three coating formulations was investigated. In theformulation of the samples, three factors of density, adhesion of the coating to recycled polyester andcost, were considered in order to achieve the desiredmechanical properties by applying them to recycledpolyester. ۴ strips with fixed and rectangular crosssection of recycled polyester were prepared. Tensilestrength was analyzed after ۷۲ hours of coatingapplication and complete drying of the samples.According to the tensile test, it was observed thatincreasing the percentage of recycled fibers in thecoating and decreasing the coating density, can leadto improved tensile strength and increasing theamount of calcium carbonate leads to a decrease intensile strength. Applying the coating on thepolyester fibers reduced the amount of elongation atthe point of breakage. The presence of calciumcarbonate also increased the severity of this decrease.
