Synthesis of tetrahydro[a]xanthenes-۱۱-one derivatives using Nano-NiO/CeO۲ as a useful catalyst

dimedone reacted with aromatic aldehydes and ۲-naphtholes in the presence of a catalytic amount of nano-NiO/CeO۲, as a green and reusable catalyst to form tetrahydro[a]xanthenes-۱۱-one in excellent yields.
