چکیده مقاله:

During the past decades, multitudes of reports confirmed the impressive role of carbon dots (CDs)in the nanobiotechnology owing to their fantastic features. There are various applications that can be assignedto CDs and some of these applications put emphasis on the environmental facets of CDs, namely applicationsof nontoxic and recyclable nano catalysts. In this research, we synthesized CDs from citric acid and L-cysteinevia hydrothermal method. Afterward, morphology features, like size, surface charge, functional groups, chemical structure, amorphous nature, and optical properties of synthesized CDs were investigated bydynamic light scattering (DLS), Atomic Force microscopy (AFM), zeta potential sizer, Fourier transforminfrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy, and UVvisiblespectroscopy, respectively. In addition of morphology results that confirmed miniscule nano size andnegative charge of CDs, optical investigations verified maximum emission peak of CDs at excitationwavelength of ۴۲۰ nm, displaying the green colour of CDs. The results suggest that the CDs have capabilityof catalytic activities.
