چکیده مقاله:

Although the foreign policy of Iran, sometimes, fluctuated between interests of Islam and national interests of Iran (during years after ۱۹۷۹ revolution), it has been the sametoward the west, especially U.S. During all years after the revolution, Iran’s foreign policy has been revisionist and based on the ideology of Islamic Republic of Iran. Overthrowing of Pahlavi regime and beginning of Islamic revolutionary government in Iran changed the relations of Iran and west (especially US). Tension between Iran’s new regime and the U.S arose after hostage crisis. The hostage crisis changed the Iran’s face forever and resulted in serious sanctions against Iran. The Economic sanctions have been actively used against Iran for all four decades. This article tries to examine the relations between Iran’s revisionist foreign policy and environmental problems. The main question of this article is that “how Iran’s revisionist foreign policy after ۱۹۷۹ revolution resulted in serious environmental problems?” I will argue that revisionist foreign policy resulted in sanctions against Iran which made the government to adopt range of survival policies with serious environmental implications.
