Optimal power flow is one of the most important tools for planning and operating power systems. Ingeneral, its structure consists of two parts: objective function and constraints. Several optimization methodshave been proposed to solve it, in all of which the convergence and speed characteristics have been evaluated.In this article, the jellyfish Algorithm (JSO) is evaluated to check the optimal load distribution of the powersystem in MATLAB software. The simulation results show that the tracking speed of the algorithm is faster thanmost common algorithms. The proposed algorithm has been successfully evaluated on a ۳۰-bus IEEE system inMATLAB software. Fuel cost minimization, active power transmission losses, environmental and economic costsare three important parameters in the objective function that are evaluated. In this article, it is shown that theproposed approach has more suitable solutions than the common methods proposed and this shows theeffectiveness of this method to solve the problem of Optimal power flow in power systems equipped with FACTSdevices. So, with change in objective functions and by using the jellyfish algorithm, the amount of the objectivefunction will be improved and we will reach the answer faster than before
