Today, many factors can affect couplesʼ relationships, and these factors lead to different outcomes around silent divorce. The aim of this study was to investigate the role of couple Machiavellian behaviors in silent divorce with respect to the mediating role of marital boredom, emotional deprivation and emotional blackmail. This study is descriptive in terms of purpose, as well as applied and is done by survey method. Statistical population in this study, were couples on the verge of divorce who were referred to welfare counseling centers in Shiraz where the statistical sample of ۱۶۱ people were selected using convenience sampling method. In order to analyze the data, the partial least squares method and Smart PLS ۲ software were used. Convergent validity was used to assess the validity and CronbDFKʼs alpha was used to measure the reliability and its coefficient is more than ۰.۷ for all research structures. The results show that the Machiavellian behaviors of couples have a positive and significant effect on the rate of marital boredom, emotional deprivation, emotional blackmail and finally the feeling of silent divorce. On the other hand, marital boredom, emotional deprivation and emotional blackmail have a positive and significant effect on the acceleration of the silent divorce process. Also, emotional deprivation does not mediate the relationship between the Machiavellian behaviors of couples and silent divorce, but the two variables of marital boredom and emotional blackmail mediate the relationship between the Machiavellian behaviors of couples and silent divorce.
