چکیده مقاله:

The present article concentrates on Foucault's concept of power, prison, and revolt as a mode of analyzing Virginia Woolf`s to the lighthouse. The mentioned novel contains complex networks of discourses which are reflecting the notion of power. The concepts of resistance, and subversion, defined by Foucault are delicately portrayed by Woolf which are the major concepts applied in this novel. The concept of revolt is considered as a remarkable feature which is reflected in two different sorts of situations in the novel. The first revolt which is regarded as breaking the traditions of society, and the second one is the riot of characters against Woolf as the jailer who has imprisoned them in a remote island and took their freedom.
