چکیده مقاله:

Background and purpose: Staphylococcus aureus is an opportunistic pathogen that causesserious diseases such as dermatitis, bacteremia, endocarditis, etc. The prevalence of drugresistantstrains of S. aureus is increasing at an alarming rate, limiting treatment options. Thisstudy was conducted with the aim of microbial sensitivity patterns in multi-drug resistant S.aureus strains in Golestan province.Materials and methods: In this study, during a ۳-year period, S. aureus isolates werecollected from patients suspected of dermatitis (n=۳۷۳) and identified using microbiologicaland biochemical tests. To determine drug sensitivity, Kirby-Bauer method was usedaccording to M۱۰۰-S۲۵ (۲۰۲۰) guidelines against seven drug classes. Results: Out of a total of ۱۱۸ isolates of S. aureus resistant to methicillin (MRSA) obtained, the highest frequency was related to ۴۹ cases (۴۱.۵۲%) of Impetigo and cases ۳۳ (۲۷.۹۷%) ofCarbuncle samples. The highest resistance was observed against clindamycin (۱۹,۲۵%) andkanamycin (۱۳,۱۷.۱۰%). Also, the highest antibiotic sensitivity of vancomycin-resistantisolates (VRSA) (۹۱%) and MDR (۹۴%) isolates belonged to linezolid (P=۰.۰۰۱).Conclusions :Considering the appropriate antibacterial effect of linezolid against MDRisolates, it seems that the use of this antibiotic for the treatment of infectious diseases relatedto S. aureus will be effective and will prevent the development of resistance to otherantibiotics.
