A m o n g c a r b o n n a n o s t r u c t u r e, a g r e a t d e a l o f i n t e r e s t s h a s b e e n r e c e n t l y f o c u s e d o n C C N T s d u e t o t h e i r s p e c i f i c p r o p e r t i e s w h i c h s t e m f r o m t h e s p e c i f i c h e l i c a l s t r u c t u r e, w h i c h t h i s f i e l d i s o n e o f t h e m o s t i n t e r e s t i n g f i e l d s i n e n g i n e e r i n g. I n t h i s p a p e r, a m u l t i-s c a l e m o d e l i s d e v e l o p e d t o s t u d y t h e m e c h a n i c a l p r o p e r t i e s i n p o l y e t h y l e n e r e i n f o r c e d b y C N T s a n d C C N T s. I n f l u e n c e o f v o l u m e f r a c t i o n (V F) a n d g e o m e t r i c o f t h e n a n o p a r t i c l e t h a t i s i n t w o t y p e s o f t h e C N T a n d C C N T, o n o v e r a l l s t r e s s - s t r a i n r e s p o n s e h a v e b e e n i n v e s t i g a t e d. E l a s t i c m o d u l u s f o r e a c h s a m p l e i s c a l c u l a t e d b a s e d o n t h e l i n e a r p a r t o f s t r e s s-s t r a i n c u r v e, a n d c o m p a r e d t o e a c h o t h e r. R e s u l t s s h o w w i t h a d d i n g ۱ p e r c e n t o f t h e C N T a n d C C N T t o t h e p o l y m e r e l a s t i c m o d u l u s i n c r e a s e s ۱۷.۵\% a n d ۹.۵\%, r e s p e c t i v e l y, b y u s i n g ۱.۵ p e r c e n t o f t h e C N T e l a s t i c m o d u l u s i n c r e a s e ۲۱.۴\%. A s a r e s u l t, w h e n t h e v o l u m e f r a c t i o n i n c r e a s e s t h e s t r e n g t h o f n a n o c o m p o s i t e s e n h a n c e s. I n t h i s p a p e r a l s o e f f e c t o f o r i e n t a t i o n o f C N T i n m a t r i x h a s b e e n s t u d i e d. A l s o e f f e c t o f c o i l s h a p e o f C C N T w e r e s t u d i e d a n d c o m p a r e d w i t h s t r a i g h t C N T. A c c o r d i n g t o t h e r e s u l t s s t r a i g h t C N T i s a b e t t e r r e i n f o r c e m e n t c o m p a r e d t o C C N T a n d a s t h e c o i l a n g l e i n c r e a s e s, t h e o v e r a l l s t r e s s-s t r a i n r e s p o n s e i m p r o v e s a s w e l l.
