R e c o n s t r u c t i o n a p p r o a c h e s h a v e b e e n i m p r o v e d b y d e v e l o p i n g o f n u m e r o u s s i m u l a t i o n t e c h n i q u e s i n r e c e n t y e a r s. A n i s o t r o p i c s t r u c t u r e s, o r i e n t a t i o n d i s t r i b u t i o n, s h a p e, a n d g e o m e t r i c a l f e a t u r e s c a n b e e x t r a c t e d f r o m s t a t i s t i c a l c o r r e l a t i o n f u n c t i o n s. ۳D r e c o n s t r u c t i o n o f m i c r o s t r u c t u r e s a n d n a n o s t r u c t u r e s i s a n e w w a y t o i n v e s t i g a t e t h e b e h a v i o r o f t h e s e s t r u c t u r e s p r e c i s e l y. M a n i d i f f e r e n t r e s e a r c h e s h a v e u s e d r e c o n s t r u c t i o n a p p r o a c h t o e n t e r t h e i r e x p e r i m e n t a l s a m p l e s t o f i n i t e e l e m e n t s o f t w a r e. T h e n, b y a p p l y i n g t h e p r o p e r t i e s o f e a c h p h a s e t h e y i n v e s t i g a t e a b o u t d i f f e r e n t b e h a v i o r o f t h e i r e x p e r i m e n t a l s a m p l e s.
