چکیده مقاله:

Objective: To evaluate the effect of Solanum melongena on different aspects of type ۱ diabetic wound healing process in rats.Method: Type ۱ diabetic male Wistar rats were euthanized on days ۳, ۵ and۷ after wound incision. Histological sections were provided from all wound area and stained with hematoxylin and eosin for estimating number changes of different tissue elements. ۴۲۰۰ microscopic photos provided from all histological sections by stereological method.Results: We found that Solanum melongena in experimental groups increased neovascular on days ۳, ۵ and ۷; increased fibroblasts on day ۵ but decreased on day ۷; and decreased macrophage numbers and epithelium thickness on all days of study significantly.Conclusion: Solanum melongena has a wide range of therapeutic benefits, but in most studies the detail of its effects is not clear. According to the results, Solanum melongena can be used as an effective health supplement to promote and accelerate wound healing indices in diabetic wounds
