Highly efficient photodegradation of TiO۲/Salicylaldehyde-NH۲-MIL-۱۰۱ (Cr) for pharmaceutical pollutant Remdesivir Antiviral COVID- ۱۹ from Aqueous Solution

In this research the photocatalytic degradation of Remdesivir (RS) by TiO۲ immobilized on Salicylaldehyde-NH۲-MIL-۱۰۱(Cr) (SN-MIL-۱۰۱(Cr)) support was investigated. The synthesized photocatalyst was identified by FT-IR, DRS, XRD, SEM and BET techniques. The photodegradation of RS by the synthesized photocatalyst was conducted under sunlight irradiation. The efficiency of the degradation process was examined by measurement of the remaining RS concentration.The results indicated that immobilization of TiO۲ on the surface of the support material enhanced the degradation of the pollutant by the sunlight. The degradation efficiency of ۹۶% was obtained by TiO۲/Salicylaldehyde-NH۲-MIL-۱۰۱(Cr) (TiO۲/SN-MIL-۱۰۱(Cr)) under sunlight irradiation. The degradation process had fast kinetics and the process reached to equilibrium after ۲۰ min.
