Congo red dye is a synthetic diazoic dye used in the textile industry that has harmful effects on humanhealth and the environment. In this research, the decolorization and removal of Congo red from modelwastewater was investigated by advanced oxidation processes. For such a purpose, hydrodynamiccavitation alone (HC), hydrodynamic cavitation with hydrogen peroxide (HC+H۲O۲) and hydrodynamiccavitation with hydrogen peroxide and ultraviolet irradiation (HC+UV+H۲O۲) were investigated.According to the obtained experimental results following ۱۲۰ min of treatment, removal efficiency ofthe aforementioned processes were ۵.۵%,۷۷.۷% and ۹۱%, respectively. Also, the kinetic rate constantsand the yield efficiency of the processes were calculated and the values related to that of the combinedprocess of HC+UV+H۲O۲ were ۲.۳۵×۱۰-۲ min-۱ and ۷.۵×۱۰-۳mg kj-۱.
