چکیده مقاله:

Industrial wastewaters contain variety of organics pollutants which are largely nonbiodegradabledue to their recalcitrant and toxic nature. In this research, ozonation wasevaluated as an effective AOP process for p-Nitrophenol (PNP) removal from pollutedindustrial wastewater. To do this, the influence of operative parameters such as ozone dosage, initial PNP concentration and initial pH on the performance of the ozonation process wasinvestigated to find the optimal conditions. The results were compared with other methods inthe literature. It was observed that increasing the ozone dosage from ۱۰ to ۵۰ mg/l increasesthe removal of PNP from ۷۸% to ۹۵%. Also the results revealed that the initial concentrationof PNP significantly effect on the performance of ozonation: an increment of PNP concentrationfrom ۲۰۰mg/l to ۶۰۰ mg/l resulted in an increasing of the PNP removal from ۶۳.۸% to ۹۰.۳%.According to the results, the maximum removal of ۹۸.۸ % of PNP was achieved after ۳۰ mintreatment under the optimal conditions of ozone dosage = ۵۰ mg/L, initial concentration of PNP= ۲۰۰ mg/L and pH of ۱۱. This work proves that compared to other treatment methods, ozonation can effectively removes PNP from wastewater as an environmentally friendlymethod.
