Artificial Intelligence for Self-Care: A Systematic Review

چکیده مقاله:

Background and aims: Artificial intelligence have been using in almost all aspects of humanlife and plays and important role in everyone’s life. Artificial intelligence is widely used in manyfields of health, one of which is self-care. The present study aims to systematically review thestudies related to the use of artificial intelligence for the self-care among patients.Method: The current research was conducted in accordance with the PRISMA guidelines andby searching the keywords “Artificial intelligence” and “self-care” and their synonyms in Webof Science, PubMed and Scopus databases without time limit until February ۲۲, ۲۰۲۳. All shortarticles, letters to the editor, conference abstracts, observational studies, review articles, as wellas articles without accessible full page, were excluded from the study. The original articles publishedin English, which were somehow related the use of artificial intelligence for self-care, wereincluded in the study and their characteristics were investigated. Data analysis was done throughcontent analysis method.Results: ۲۹۸ articles were retrieved. After removing duplicate items (۱۰۹) and unrelated itemsbased on evaluation of title and abstract (۱۶۳) and full text (۱۵), ۱۱ articles were recognizedas eligible. These studies have been conducted in China, America, Australia, Panama, Ghana,France, London, England, and India. Technologies based on artificial intelligence in the field ofself-care for diseases such as diabetes (۵۴.۵۴%), bipolar disorder (۹.۰۹%), chronic neck and backpain (۹.۰۹%), Parkinson’s (۹.۰۹%), obesity (۹.۰۹%) and chronic diseases (۹.۰۹%) were used. Thelargest volume of articles was devoted to the use of artificial intelligence such as machine learning(۲۷.۲۷%), expert system (۱۸.۱۸%), deep learning (۹.۰۹%), and genetic algorithm (۹.۰۹%).Conclusion: The results showed that technologies based on artificial intelligence are useful inmany fields of health and self-care of patients. In fact, the use of artificial intelligence can helppatients make better decisions, be very effective in reducing their problems and improving selfcare,and accelerate the movement towards smart health and better patient empowerment.
