Bringing together multidisciplinary literatureon urban agriculture and the distribution of urban-produced foods in a thematic, systematic review, gaps between academic research and practical proposal have beenpointed out. The study integrates academic literature from Web of Science searches fortheoretical background and GIS and filed visits for technical data. The set includes abrief explanation of urban agriculture, its categories and method of application, andRasht’s description of historical, climatic, economic, and cultural views. In the next stepRasht municipal area has been chosen as the site of the proposal; three different zoneshave been practiced for multiple scales, from efforts that consider an entire city to thosethat impact a single building or garden.
