The role of motivation in the development of self-confidence in foreign language learning is a topic that has received increasing attention in recent years. Motivation and self-confidence are closely related in language learning, as learners who are motivated tend to be more confident in their language abilities, while learners who lack motivation often struggle with low self-confidence and may become discouraged. This paper examines the relationship between motivation and self-confidence in foreign language learning, and explores various strategies that can be used to increase motivation and promote self-confidence in language learners. The paper highlights the importance of setting clear goals, providing relevant and interesting materials, and recognizing and rewarding progress in cultivating and sustaining motivation, as well as the need for effective feedback and supportive learning environments to build self-confidence. The paper concludes by emphasizing the importance of addressing both motivation and self-confidence in foreign language learning to promote successful language acquisition and positive psychological outcomes for language learners.
