چکیده مقاله:

Saurida tumbil is one of the species in the Persian Gulf and that is dominant species with widely distributed in the region. To present population dynamics and characteristics of this species, the fish caught by trawling method were analyzed from Kolahi to Dargahan areas in Hormozgan province waters. The von Bertalanffy growth equation (VBGF) was fitted to length-frequency data (n=۴۸۱) to obtain a VBGF with the following parameters: L∞, K, and t۰ were ۵۰.۴۰ cm, ۰.۲۷, and -۰.۵۳, respectively. The estimated value of total mortality (Z) and natural mortality (M) were ۱.۴۴ and ۰.۶۳ (year-۱), respectively. Also, fishing mortality (F) was recorded as ۰.۸۱ year-۱. Exploitation rate, corresponding to the maximum relative yield per recruit (E) was ۰.۵۶, and this fish in the present study caught capacity. The exploitation pattern in this species showed a high trend of fishing effort to exploit this species, which may lead to relative changes in their abundance. Therefore, proper fisheries management practices are necessary to maintain such stocks and sustainable harvests.
