Analysis of climatic air flow using Climate Consultant software for airport design in Chabahar Azad Zone and solutions to improve passengers comfort

Investigating the climatic wind flow situation is very important in airport architecture design. In this article, the basics of the research will be considered first, and the definitions related to wind in the climate and its impact on the environment, including ventilation, will be reviewed. Then the natural geography and climate of Chabahar city and the conditions of wind throughout the year are presented. In this regard, wind speed charts and specifically "hour-month" three-dimensional charts are used. Climate Consultant software was designed by the UCLA Energy Design Group of the University of California. This climatic software displays all the meteorological statistics of a station in the form of graphic diagrams and at the end draws a diagram of climatic comfort and suggests strategies needed for each month. Then, the graph of Chabahar's climatic winds is shown using this software considering the concept of airport design for all hours of the day. For example, more freguency is observed in the northwest front, its temperature is between ۲۱ and ۲۷ degrees Celsius, relative humidity is between ۳۰ and ۷۰ percent and its speed is ۸ miles per hour. This climate is below the normal range for four months of the year and by benefiting from a limited amount of energy, the required thermal comfort conditions of the building are provided. And the remaining month of the summer period to November is located near the thermal comfort zone, which is accompanied by abundant relative humidity. On the other hand, in Chabahar station, ۷ months of the year it is above the thermal range of the comfort zone, and its humidity reaches more than ۶۴% and in some cases up to ۸۰%. According to the mentioned points, it can be stated that the ۳ cold months of the year (February, January and December) are within the range of comfortable climatic conditions and in the hot period of the year, Chabahar city receives a lot of radiant energy. In the end, according to these points; suggestions such as: double skin design, semi-open space and maximum shading, elongated building form, large opening doors and windows are proposed and explained.
