چکیده مقاله:

Circular bioeconomy presents a promising framework for achieving sustainable olive oilproduction and effective waste management. Within the olive oil industry, waste generationand environmental sustainability are pivotal challenges. This study review circularbioeconomy strategies to promote sustainable olive oil production, with special emphasis onwaste-to-energy approaches. The review highlights the potential of circular bioeconomymethods in boosting sustainability by using waste or by-products such as wastewater andpomace for various purposes, including bioenergy generation. Furthermore, this approachcould help mitigate environmental pollution, create novel resources, and bring economicbenefits. The study addresses different challenges and opportunities of circular bioeconomylinked to financial constraints, stakeholder collaboration, technical intricacies and etc.Tackling these challenges requires concerted efforts among stakeholders and calls for researchin circular practices, circular business models, life cycle assessment, and quantitativemethodologies. By bridging these gaps, circular bioeconomy strategies can be refined, leadingto a more resilient, economically viable, and ecologically responsible olive oil industry. Thereview underscores the urgency of continued research and collaborative endeavors toeliminate these challenges and facilitate the integration of circular bioeconomy approacheswithin the olive oil sector
