چکیده مقاله:

Background: Cancer is the second most common cause ofmortality worldwide; There are over ۲۰۰ types of cancer globally, and one of the most reported cases is hepatocellular carcinoma. Thus far, various therapies have been proposed for cancer, which are generally not effective and also have high side effects.Because the adverse effects of using herbal medicines arefar less than chemical medicines, A great deal of research is beingcarried out all over the world to discover natural compoundsthat may suppress or prevent the carcinogenesis process. Nigellasativa is one of the cases in which anti-cancer effects havebeen extensively studied and the evidence indicates the differencein toxicity levels in samples from different regions; Thus,in this study, the antitumor effect of Nigella sativa oil extractof the Taibad variety was investigated in the HepG-۲ cell line.Materials and Methods: In this research, according to thestandard protocols, the antitumor properties of the oil extractof Nigella sativa, Taibad variety on the HepG-۲ cell line werestudied by MTT and NRU tests. In this study, the weight /volumepercentage values of ۱%w/v, ۳%w/v, ۵%w/v and ۱۰% oilextract of Nigella sativa cultivar Taibad were used to performthe mentioned tests.(P<۰.۰۰۱)Results: Results obtained from values of ۵% w/v and aboveindicate reduced viability and increased mortality in the HepG-۲ cell line respectively, in the MTT and NRU tests.(P<۰.۰۰۱)Conclusion: The results indicate the presence of anticancerproperties in the oil extract from Nigella sativa, Taibad varietyon the HepG-۲ cell line. With further investigation, this substancecan be used as an anticancer candidate for liver tumors.
