Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma is one of the most commonmalignant tumors of oral cavity and it is estimated that up to۹۰% of malignant neoplasms exist in this area. Oral verrucouscarcinoma (OVC) is a type of oral squamous-cell carcinomawith a low grade. Transforming growth factor beta ۱ (TGFβ۱)has a significant role in adjusting reproduction and apoptosis ofepithelial Cells. In this paper, attempts have been made to studythe assessment of TGFβ۱ expression in aggressive squamouscellcarcinoma and oral verrucous carcinoma using immunohistochemistry.Materials and Methods: ۶۰ SCC lesions were selected fromCarcinoma. Immunohistochemistry was performed using thestandard Streptodividine-Biotin Peroxide (LSAB) method usingmonoclonal antibody TGFB۱ (Dako Denmark). The specimenswere stained with TGF B۱ antibodies and graded from۰ to ۳. Observing all immunohistochemistry slides was performedby two panologists using a binocular microscope. Inorder to check total count of TGF B ۱ in parenchyma, stromawas examined. Differences between groups were evaluated usingkruksal-Wallis, Mann-Whitney and Fisher tests.Results: Age did not affect the appearance of TGFB۱ markerin epithelium and stroma lesions. For SCC lesions, percentageof positive expression (۹۷.۱۵%) for dysplasia lesion, percentageof positive expression (۵۵.۵۶%), VC lesions, percentageof positive expression (۱۱.۱۱%) and also in normal mucosa,percentage of positive expression was (۱۶.۶۷% ۹). The significancelevel of Chi-square test was less than ۰.۰۵. Therefore,positive and negative representations is different in epitheliumand stroma together in SCC, Vorrucous Carcinoma, Dysplasiaand normal mucus.Conclusion: Stroma changes is one of the common findingsof SCC tumor and increased incidence of TGFB۱ Cytokines insurrounding stroma stimulates tumor growth
