چکیده مقاله:
One approach to mitigating global warming is the capture and storage of CO۲ as the majorgreenhouse gas [۱]. Materials that are commonly used for CO۲ adsorption include activated carbon, zeolites [۲], and metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) [۳]. HKUST-۱ (also known as MOF-۱۹۹) is awell-known metal-organic framework that has been extensively studied for its potentialapplications in gas storage and separation. In this work, HKUST-۱ was investigated as anadsorbent for CO۲. HKUST-۱was synthesized using the hydrothermal method and its chemicalproperties were investigated using various characterization techniques including XRD, FTIR,FESEM, BET, and TGA. It was shown that HKUST-۱ has a crystalline structure with a surfacearea of over ۱۷۰۴ m۲/g, and a petal-shaped molecular structure. It also showed thermal stability upto a temperature of ۳۶۶°C. The results of CO۲ adsorption showed that the amount of carbon dioxideadsorption by HKUST-۱ at ۲۰°C, ۳۰°C and ۴۰°C and ۱bar was ۳.۷۸۸, ۳.۴۱۷, and ۳.۰۸۸mmol/g,respectively. However, in ۱۰ bar and the same temperatures, its adsorbtion improved to ۹.۰۹۰,۸.۷۸۲, and ۷.۷۲۴ mmol/g, respectively. Therefore, it can be concluded that the amount of carbondioxide adsorption enhanced with increasing CO۲ pressure and decreases when temperatureincreases. Therefore, HKUST-۱ could be suggested as a promissing CO۲ adsorbent at moderatetemperatures.
