چکیده مقاله:

Introduction:The assurance of patient safety holds paramount importance within the hospital setting,as errors and adverse events can lead to grave consequences. The objective of this reviewis to delve into the diverse array of strategies and techniques employed to enhance patientsafety in hospitals. By comprehending these approaches, healthcare providers canelevate the quality of care rendered and diminish the incidence of preventable harm.Methodology:A meticulous and comprehensive literature search was meticulously conducted toidentify pertinent studies regarding patient safety strategies and techniques within thehospital environment. Databases such as PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar werescrupulously explored, utilizing carefully selected keywords including "patient safety,""hospital," "strategies," and "techniques." The inclusion criteria encompassed studiespublished within the past decade and written in the English language. Following ameticulous screening process based on title and abstract, full-text articles were assessedfor eligibility. The selected studies underwent meticulous analysis to discern commonstrategies and techniques employed to enhance patient safety. Finally, a thorough reviewof all included articles was undertaken to extract and compile pertinent informationregarding patient safety strategies and techniques within the hospital setting. As anarrative study, the focus of this research was not on assessing the quality of the includedarticles. These meticulously selected articles served as the foundation for thecomprehensive analysis and discussion of the diverse approaches aimed at augmentingpatient safety in the present study.ResultsThe review has successfully identified several pivotal strategies and techniques that areutilized to enhance patient safety within hospitals. These encompass the implementationof standardized protocols and guidelines, the enhancement of communication andteamwork, the utilization of technology, and the implementation of continuous qualityimprovement initiatives. To ensure consistent and safe practices, hospitals have embraced the adoption ofstandardized protocols and guidelines. These encompass a variety of procedures, such asmedication administration, hand hygiene, and surgical checklists. By adhering to theseprotocols, healthcare providers can mitigate the risk of errors and maintain a highstandard of patient safety.Effective communication among healthcare providers is of paramount importance in promoting patient safety. Strategies such as structured handovers, interprofessional education, and communication training programs have been implemented to foster improved teamwork and reduce the potential for miscommunication. By enhancing communication, healthcare teams can collaborate more efficiently to deliver safe and effective care. The utilization of technology has revolutionized patient safety practices in hospitals. Electronic health records (EHRs), barcode medication administration systems, and clinical decision support systems have been integrated into healthcare settings to facilitate accurate documentation, enhance medication safety, and support clinical decision-making. These technological advancements contribute to reducing errors and improving patient outcomes. Conclusion: The quest for enhanced patient safety within the hospital environment necessitates a comprehensive and multifaceted approach that encompasses standardized protocols, effective communication, technological advancements, and continuous quality improvement. By embracing these strategies and techniques, hospitals can cultivate a culture that prioritizes safety and mitigates the occurrence of adverse events and medical errors. However, it is crucial to acknowledge that the successful implementation of these approaches requires tailoring them to the specific needs and challenges of each unique healthcare setting. Further research is imperative to evaluate the effectiveness and sustainability of these strategies in diverse hospital contexts. Through rigorous examination and analysis, we can gain insights into the optimal utilization of these approaches and their impact on patient care outcomes. Such research endeavors will contribute to the ongoing evolution and refinement of patient safety practices, facilitating the provision of high-quality and safe healthcare to all individuals
