The Relationship between Marital Conflicts and the Quality of Object Relationships

Objectives: The study aimed to explore the correlation between marital conflicts and the quality of object relationships. Methods: The current research is descriptive and correlational. The statistical population includes married couples with children. The study sample is ۵۰ couples (۱۰۰ people) selected using the available sampling method. They answered the questions of Soleimani's Marital Conflicts Questionnaire and Bell's Object Relations Questionnaire. The data was analyzed using Pearson's correlation coefficient analytical test. Results: The present study showed a significant and inverse relationship between marital conflicts and the quality of object relationships and the components of the quality of object relationships with marital conflicts, i.e. social incompetence, egocentricity, insecure attachment and alienation (P<۰.۰۱). Also, stepwise regression analysis showed that the quality of object relations could predict marital conflicts (p<۰.۰۰۱).
