Background and objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between self-esteem, identity dimensions and coping behaviors in students with addicted parents and their comparison with non-addicted parents in high school in the city of Hirmand. In this research, the relationship between self-esteem and identity dimensions between addicted and non-addicted families in the city of Hirmand has been investigated which is correlational research. Materials and Methods: The statistical population of this study included students with addicted and non-addicted parents in the Hirmand High School, who studied in ۹۷-۹۶ years. ۱۶۴ subjects were selected using random sampling method. The instrument used in this study was Cooper's Self-Esteem Questionnaire (۱۹۶۷) and Chiquet's Aspects of Identity Dimension Questionnaire (۱۹۸۹) and Andler's Crisis Behavior Questionnaire, and Parker (۱۹۹۴). The research method was descriptive and for analyzing the data, Pearson's correlation coefficient, standard deviation, ANOVA and mean were used in SPSS۲۴ software. Results: According to the results, there is a meaningful relationship between self-esteem and identity dimensions with the coping behaviors of students with addicted and non-addicted parents. There was a correlation between personal identity variables and the coping of students with addicted or non-addicted parents (r=۰.۳۳۲, p<.۰۵); there was a correlation between identity variables and coping with students with addicted or non-addicted parents(r=۰.۳۸۷, p<.۰۵). There was a significant relationship between the variables of social identity and the coping of students with addicted and non-addicted parents; there is a correlation between the variables of collective identities and the coping of students with addicted or non-addicted parents (.۳۳۶, p<.۰۵), and given that the criterion of decision (p<.۰۵). Therefore, this correlation coefficient obtained is meaningful. Regarding the dimensions of identity, it can be said that social identity has the highest severity of communication with the correlation of students with addicted and non-addicted parents, after which the identity is communicative (r=۰.۳۸۷, p<.۰۵) and the collective identity (r=۰.۳۶۶, p=.۰۵).
