چکیده مقاله:

School Psychology as a subject is almost two hundred years old. It developed under a historical situation in USA and later got its essentially right place all around the world, but not in all countries. In Bangladesh School Psychology is not yet a well-known, nay popular, subject in the fields of Education and social practice. This paper attempts to examine the present condition of school psychology in Bangladesh and find out the extent of its existence in order to understand the necessity to spread it throughout the country in appropriate fields. This paper focuses on the requirement of creating a group of educated School Psychologists. The paper addresses the following questions: ۱) how does School Psychology positively affect the Students, the Teachers, the Guardians and the School Administrators? ۲) How can we bring the subject into practice in our educational institutions (schools, colleges and universities), thus effectively practicing it to cover the social spectrum? The key objective of this paper is to examine how a revolutionary step can be taken towards popularizing and executing School Psychology as a subject well practiced? The paper aims to construct an advanced conceptual and practical understanding of issues related to school bullying, special needs students, cultural and religious differences among the students and teachers, and other motivations like moral degradation and addiction of all kinds making the situation comfortable and enjoyable for parents, students and teachers. The paper ends with few recommendations.
