Review of the Effect of Attachment-Intimacy Motivation on Women's and Men's Health

Affiliation is a concern with establishing and maintaining a positive relationship with a person or group. McAdams built a structure to measure intimacy and defined it as follows: It is a kind of fixed preference or readiness to experience warm and close social interactions. The main motivational experience of intimacy is the two-way non-instrumental sharing of desires, feelings or thoughts. People of the same sex may perform certain health-oriented behaviors or, on the contrary, seek risky behaviors due to seeking connections and communicating with others. In this article, after defining and classifying the measurement tools, we are going to discuss the gender difference in these two motivations and finally the effect of these motivations on physical health.
