چکیده مقاله:
Arsenic pollution in groundwater is a worldwide concern due to its chronic effects on human health.Numerous studies have been carried out to obtain cost-effective arsenic removal method. Adsorptionusing natural materials or its treated forms is found to be cost-effective technology. In this comprehensive research, a diverse range of arsenic removal adsorbents, including activated carbon, zeolites, nanoparticles, and metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), were meticulously explored. Activated carbon, especially in its iron-modified forms, exhibited exceptional efficacy due to its expansive surface area. Zeolites, particularly clinoptilolite, were enhanced with additives like MgO and Fe(III), significantly boosting arsenic removal. Noteworthy adsorption capacities were observed in nanoparticles, particularly iron oxide-graphene oxide composites, owing to their unique structures. Metal-organic frameworks, specifically MIL-۱۰۱(OH)۳, demonstrated promising results in adsorbing organic arsenic acids (OAAs) and offered easy regeneration for reuse. This study underscores the tremendous potential of these advanced materials in addressing the critical issue of arsenic contamination in water sources. Additionally, within the zeolite category, clinoptilolite emerged as a standout, displaying exceptional performance due to its enhanced properties, further advancing sustainable arsenic remediation practices.
