چکیده مقاله:
The effects of organic acid or synbiotic and their mixture on the growth performance, gut morphology, intestinal microbiota, and meat quality of broiler chicken were investigated in a ۴۲-day feeding trial. One hundred and forty (۱۴۰) one-day-old broiler chicks were randomly allocated into ۴ diets with ۵ replicates of ۷ birds each. Diet ۱ was a basal diet (control diet). Diets ۲, ۳ and ۴ contained the basal diet +۰.۱% organic acid, basal diet+۰.۰۵% synbiotic, basal diet + ۰.۱% organic acid + ۰.۰۵% synbiotic respectively. Performance indices were measured. On day ۴۲, ileal digesta samples were collected from three birds per replicate for microbial counts while about ۵ cm of distal ileum was severed for morphological measurements. Also, meats were sampled for microbial count, physicochemical assessment, and thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and ANOVA at α۰.۰۵. At the starter phase, lower feed conversion ratio (۱.۸۴) was recorded in birds fed blend of organic acid + synbiotic diet. At the finisher phase, improved FCR (۱.۳۸) was observed in birds that received organic acid diet, though, similar to the FCR of birds fed synbiotic diet (۱.۶۴). Lowest Escherichia coli counts (۰.۵۷×۱۰۵ CFU/mL) (P= ۰.۰۲۵) were recorded in birds fed the blend diet. Increased lactic acid bacteria counts (P < ۰.۰۰۰۱) were observed in birds fed organic acid diet. Crypt depth (۱۶۱.۷۸ µm) and villus height: crypt depth ratio (۴.۴۸) of birds fed the control diet were similar to those on the other diets. Breast meat of birds fed organic acid diet (۲۶.۲۲%) was significantly bigger (۲۲.۹۳%) than the control diet. The crude protein of birds fed organic acid diet (۲۲.۹۶%) and synbiotic (۲۲.۸۷%) were similar but the blend (۲۴.۸۳%) was significantly (P<۰.۰۵) higher than the basal diet (۲۱.۹۲%). The lowest water holding capacity (۶۴.۶۷%) was recorded in birds fed the basal diet while highest values (۷۰.۶۷%) were found in the synbiotic and blend diets. TBARs of broiler chicken meat in birds fed organic acid (۰.۱۳ mgMDA/۱۰۰g), synbiotic (۰.۱۲ mgMDA/۱۰۰g) and the blend (۰.۱۴ mgMDA/۱۰۰g) were similar but lower than the control diet (۰.۲۲ mgMDA/۱۰۰g). The microbial counts of the meat show that the total Lactobacillus count of birds on synbiotic diet (۰.۵۸×۱۰۴CFU/g) and the combination of synbiotic plus organic acid (۰.۶۵×۱۰۴ CFU/g) were similar but significantly (P<۰.۰۵) higher than the control diet (۰.۳۴×۱۰۴ CFU/g) and organic acid diet (۰.۲۰×۱۰۴ CFU/g). Salmonella count was lowest in the blend (۰.۳۲×۱۰۳ CFU/g) and highest in organic acid diet (۰.۸۶×۱۰۳ CFU/g) In conclusion, dietary supplementation of ۱g/kg organic acid singly or plus ۰.۵g/kg synbiotic improved the feed conversion ratio, gut health, and meat quality of broiler chicken and can conveniently replace antibiotic growth promoters in broilers nutrition. The effects of organic acid or synbiotic and their mixture on the growth performance, gut morphology, intestinal microbiota, and meat quality of broiler chicken were investigated in a ۴۲-day feeding trial.
