چکیده مقاله:

Background: Despite the ever-increasing beneficial applications of magnetic nanoparticles in biological systems, few studies have been carried out on the combined effects of nanoparticles (Fe and Ni) on human health. In the present study the effects of Fe۲NiO۴ nanoparticle on inflammatory factors were assessed. Methods: Twenty-four Wistar rats were randomly divided into ۳ groups: two groups were treated with Fe۲NiO۴ nanoparticle; (۲,۳) and the third group was taken as the control group (۱). Group ۲ and ۳ received ۰.۵ml of solution containing ۱۰۰ and ۲۰۰ ppm Fe۲NiO۴ for ۷ successive days, respectively. Inflammatory cytokines such as IL-۶ and Tumor necrosis factorα (TNFα) were measured at various time points (۱, ۲, ۷ and ۱۴ days) by ELISA kits. After ۱۴ days, lung tissue was investigated. Results: On day ۷, IL-۶ concentration significantly increased in-group۲. Also during the ۱۴ days, IL-۶ concentration significantly increased in groups۱and۲ in comparison with control group. The concentration of TNFα on ۷th day significantly increased in groups ۲ and ۳ and on day ۱۴th, TNFα concentration significantly increased in groups ۲ and ۳compared to control group. There were no pathological changes between the control group and group ۲ but in-group۳, signals of fibrous and thickening of the air sacs were observed. Conclusions: In the present study we found that inflammatory cytokines (IL-۶ and TNFα) increased in the groups treated with Fe۲NiO۴ and high dose of this nanoparticles caused drastic changes in lung tissue. Background: Despite the ever-increasing beneficial applications of magnetic nanoparticles in biological systems, few studies have been carried out on the combined effects of nanoparticles (Fe and Ni) on human health.
