چکیده مقاله:

Childbirth, also known as labour, parturition and delivery, is the completion of pregnancy where one or more babies exits the internal environment of the mother via vaginal delivery or caesarean section. In ۲۰۱۹, there were about ۱۴۰.۱۱ million human births globally. In the developed countries, most deliveries occur in hospitals, while in the developing countries most are home births. The amount of pain felt during labor and delivery is different for every woman. The level of pain depends on many factors, including the size and position of the baby, the woman's level of comfort with the process, and the strength of her contractions. There are two general ways to relieve pain during labor and delivery: using medications and using "natural" methods (no medications). Some women choose one way or another, while other women rely on a combination of the two. A woman should discuss the many aspects of labor with her health care provider well before labor begins to ensure that she understands all of the options, risks, and benefits of pain relief during labor and delivery before making a decision. It might also be helpful to put all the decisions in writing to clarify things for all those who might be involved with delivering the baby. Although it is clear that natural childbirth is the most natural method, labor pain plays an important role in the preference of expectant mothers for cesarean delivery. There is no escape from this. Birth hurts. However, you can be sure that the birth will not take too long and will be less painful. There are many ways to reduce pain. Experts believe that the most basic and primary exercise in reducing pain is relaxation and control. Labor pain is one of the most severe pains on human beings around the world, despite the difference of individual feelings. During the childbirth, the cervix and obstetric canal were opened with severe uterine contractions, which made the pregnant women suffered sharp pain. The inevitable pain remarkably affects the mental and physical condition of the women. It was widely believed that if the management of pain was not performed well during the childbirth, the tolerance threshold of parturient women will decrease promptly. Furthermore, the labor pain could not only alter the stress state of women, studies also reported that a series of plasma inflammatory cytokines were associated with labor pain. Considering the intensity, duration and individual characteristics, various degree of hypertension, and increasing of heart rate could probably serve a negative role in women’s health, even affecting the maternal and infant relationship [۴]. Due to the enormous pressure caused by childbirth on parturient women, a more effective non-invasive nursing method for reducing labor pain was thus urgently needed. The present clinical trial was conducted to compare the effects of massage and music therapies on the severity of labor pain in the Ilam province of western Iran.
