چکیده مقاله:

Aims: Cybervictimization can generate a series of negative effects on the mental, physical and social health of those affected, triggering anxiety, depression and other emotional problems. The aim of the study was to determine the relationship between cybervictimization and depression in high school students in the province of Tumbes, located in northern Peru. Methods: The design was non-experimental, cross-sectional and quantitative. The sample consisted of ۳۷۲ high school students between ۱۱ and ۱۸ years of age. The Cybervictimization Questionnaire (CBV) was used as a measurement instrument, obtaining a Cronbach's Alpha reliability of ۰.۹۰۲ in a pilot test. The Beck Depression Inventory II was also used, with a Cronbach's Alpha reliability of ۰.۹۲۱. Findings: In the results it was found that, by means of Spearman's Rho correlation method, there is a relationship between cybervictimization and depression with a value of (Bilateral Sig. = ۰.۰۰۰) which shows a highly significant correlation, the positive relationship being of moderate degree (Rho = ۰.۵۲۴). Likewise, it was found through the linear regression model that cybervictimization is a predictor of depression to a degree of ۳۲.۲% (R۲ = ۰.۳۲۲), being highly significant (sig = ۰.۰۰۰). Conclusión: Therefore, it is concluded that cybervictimization is significantly related and predictive of depression.
