چکیده مقاله:
The identification and mitigation of environmental loads and pollutants released into the ecosystem stand at the forefront of contemporary research endeavors, constituting a critical pursuit in the quest to ameliorate environmental pollution. In response to this imperative, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) emerges as a pioneering methodology, systematically analyzing environmental loads throughout the entire life cycle of a product, from its inception to disposal. In the context of this study, we leverage the advanced capabilities of SimaPro software to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the life cycle of glass packaging. This investigation specifically delves into the environmental implications associated with two distinct transportation methods: "air" and "sea". The primary objective is to discern and comprehend how various modes of transportation, in this case, air and sea, influence the environmental footprint of a product, activity, or process. By employing a comparative analysis, we seek to illuminate the nuanced ways in which different transportation modalities contribute to environmental impact. The findings of our research unequivocally demonstrate that, overall, the environmental repercussions of air transportation surpass those of sea transportation by a notable margin, registering a ۳۸% higher impact. In diverse environmental domains and impact assessments, air transportation emerges as notably more predominant and has been recognized as posing a greater detriment to the environment. This study not only contributes valuable insights to the ongoing discourse on sustainable practices and environmental conservation but also underscores the significance of adopting eco-friendly transportation strategies in the life cycle assessment of packaging materials, particularly glass.
