چکیده مقاله:

Introduction: Over the past several decades, various blood-borne viruses have targeted hemophiliacs requiringtreatment with human plasma-derived coagulation factors. Even today, many hemophilia patients and theirfamilies still remember the painful memories of HIV and hepatitis C infections and face their progressiveconsequences. In December ۲۰۱۹, a new disease caused by the coronavirus spread rapidly in the Chinese cityof Wuhan. As a result, many hemophilia patients are exposed to the risk of contracting and dying from thecoronavirus. For this purpose, in this study titled Health Challenges of Hemophilia Patients during the CoronaPandemic, we investigate the problems of hemophilia patients during the pandemic.Method :It was compiled by searching in both Persian and English languages in reliable databases such asScopus, Pubmed, Web of Science, Sid, Google Scholar, and Magiran in the period from ۲۰۱۳ to ۲۰۲۳.Results :Various studies in this field showed that the situation of many countries, whose only source of supportrelied on the humanitarian aid program of the World Federation of Hemophilia, completely changed afterCorona. Temporary shutdowns of air transport and substitute products have slowed or stopped treatment accessfor a while. Also, plasma donation decreased due to the delay of donors infected with coronavirus and the fearof donating blood and plasma. There was even a misunderstanding among donors that donating blood mightexpose them to the coronavirus. In addition, the increase in the readiness of hospitals to treat patients with thecoronavirus around the world has made it even more difficult to access hemophilia treatment centers. Conclusion :The coronavirus pandemic has had consequences in medical follow-up, evaluation consultations, special treatments, educational programs, and diagnostic methods for hemophilia patients. In this situation, medical centers should quickly adapt to this reality by using all remote communication methods, such astelemedicine, and establishing regular contact with patients, especially those who need accurate and regularfollow-up.
