چکیده مقاله:

Introduction: Abortion does inherently pose some risks for women's health. Unfortunately, faced with anunwanted pregnancy, some feel they have no choice but to secretly end it through dangerous means. Records ofinduction procedures could serve as useful indicators when assessing whether new health policies or supportprograms are needed. Therefore, as health care providers, we need information regarding the prevalence ofinduced abortions and related factors. The purpose of this study was to determine the variables associated withinduced abortions in Iran. Methods: This study is a systematic review of studies that investigated factors related to induced abortion inIranian women and were published from September ۱۹۹۷ to September ۲۰۲۳. In order to review the conductedresearch, searching in databases and search engines (SID, Magiran, Pubmed, Scopus, and Google Scholar) withthe keywords unsafe abortion, illegal abortion, induced abortion, Iran, and their Persian equivalents was doneseparately. To create a more thematic connection, the advanced search method was also used in combination. Finally, ۷۶ related studies were obtained, of which ۱۱ articles were selected. Results: In ۱۱ studies, factors associated with induced abortion were examined. There was no quantitativeanalysis done; the results were presented as an overview of the studies that were carried out. The quality of thesystematic review was assessed using the SMART tool. All of the studies that were looked at used a descriptiveanalyticalimplementation strategy. Iranian women have reported that age, drug use, number of children, unintended pregnancy, and economic status are the most significant factors that lead to abortions. Conclusion: Although there have been relatively few studies in this area, more in-depth research is still needed. The current systematic review looked at the variables associated with induced abortion in Iranian women.Research in this area can assist planners and policymakers in determining which women belong to specificsubgroups that require special services and what measures, such as educating doctors and midwives, can betaken to prevent the negative consequences of induced abortions
