چکیده مقاله:

Objectives: Coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) is one of the world's most common and expensive open-heartsurgeries. Therefore, improving the quality indicators related to this type of operation is essential. One of theindicators for evaluating the quality of care for patients is the ۳۰-day readmission rate. Methods: In ۲۰۱۸, data from ۳۱۷ patients who underwent isolated CABG at Bu Ali Hospital in Qazvin fromApril ۱۳, ۲۰۱۷, to April ۱۲, ۲۰۱۸, were analyzed retrospectively. The patients were examined for the prevalenceand causes of re-hospitalization during the first ۳۰ days after surgery. In addition, the re-hospitalized patientswere compared with those who were not hospitalized. Results: The mean age of patients who underwent CABG was ۶۱.۸۵ + ۹.۳۲ years. The average length of hospitalstay was ۱۷.۵۲+۷.۶۱ days. The rate of ۳۰-day readmission following CABG was ۱۲%. The most prevalent timefor readmission was the first week after discharge, and the most common cause of ۳۰-day readmission waspostoperative infection. The length of stay in the hospital and BMI are risk factors for ۳۰-day re-hospitalization(Odds ratio = ۱.۰۴, CI ۹۵%: ۱.۰۱-۱.۰۸ and Odds ratio = ۱.۱۰, CI ۹۵ ۱.۰۳-۱.۱۷, respectively)Conclusions: The length of stay in the hospital and BMI are risk factors for ۳۰-day re-hospitalization afterCABG. The most common causes of re-hospitalization are infections. Preventing prolonged hospitalization, especially in patients with a higher risk of re-hospitalization, and early initiation of antibiotics, if needed, mayprevent re-hospitalization in the first ۳۰ days after CABG.
