چکیده مقاله:

Introduction: Gastric bypass and other types of weight loss surgery—also called bariatric or metabolicsurgery—involve procedures that make changes to the digestive system to help with weight loss.Pregnancy afterbariatric surgery has characteristics related to obesity, type of surgery, amount of weight loss, time elapsed sincesurgery and adherence to medical prescriptions.Considering that pregnant women are at risk of nutritionaldeficiencies, in this study we investigate the effect of bariatric surgery on fetal growth restriction and pregnancyparameters. Methods: By using the keywords bariatric surgery, fetal growth restriction, pregnancy, fetus and obesity andthe English equivalent of these words, we found articles related to the subject from ۲۰۱۰ on SID, Google scholar, pubmed, and magiran sites. Results: Gastric bypass has more serious side effects than other bariatric surgery methods. After bariatricsurgery, the risk of gestational diabetes and high blood pressure decreases. Fetuses of women who haveundergone bariatric surgery are smaller during pregnancy and at birth compared to women who have notundergone this surgery, and this may be related to the lower maternal glucose levels seen in the first population, but the risk of malformations does not appear to be related. Congenital (DTN) of the fetus is increased, exceptin individual cases of folic acid deficiency (DTN) or vitamin K deficiency (similar abnormalities in patientsreceiving oral anticoagulants). Conclusion: Despite the benefits of bariatric surgery, bariatric surgery is associated with a higher risk ofintrauterine growth retardation (IUGR), and the fetus is at high risk of prematurity and growth restriction.Women who intend to undergo bariatric surgery should read about the different effects of different types ofbariatric surgery methods, and finally, it seems that non-invasive methods are still safer and safer methods.
