Nowadays, the construction industry encounters significant obstacles, such as a dearth of economic and environmental sustainability. With the rapid advancement and widespread use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology in various industries, it has emerged as a powerful tool to enhance the performance of construction projects and address associated challenges. Traditional Construction Contracts have proven to be insufficient in this regard, making Smart Contracts (Scs) powered by AI appear to be crucial for effectively regulating sustainable growth, particularly in terms of environmental impact. The current study conducted a pioneering literature review to thoroughly investigate the role and influence of AI in enhancing environmental sustainability in the construction industry. Ultimately, it was demonstrated that AI possesses numerous advantages, despite its inherent complexity in implementation. For instance, it can improve productivity, reduce inefficiency, and inspire innovation while also aiding in the effective management of advanced infrastructure, conducting assessments of a product's whole lifespan, and improving decision-making by offering accurate information and optimizing operations. The effective incorporation of AI into building processes exhibits immense promise for a greener, more streamlined, and sustainable future, fundamentally transforming the sector and yielding substantial beneficial outcomes.
