Effectiveness of Mindfulness on Locus of Control and Nomophobia in Adolescents with Internet Addiction

چکیده مقاله:

The present study was conducted to investigate the effect of mindfulness therapy on locus of control and nomophobia in adolescents with Internet addiction. In a quasi-experimental method with pre-test, post-test and follow-up design with control group, ۳۰ adolescents with Internet addiction in Tehran who were selected by convenience sampling and then randomly assigned to two experimental and control groups (each group ۱۵ people). After that, members of both groups completed Internet addiction questionnaire (Young, ۱۹۹۹), Nomophobia questionnaire (Ildin and Correa, ۲۰۱۵), and locus of control questionnaire (Rutter, ۱۹۶۶). The experimental group received ۸ sessions of mindfulness therapy once a week for ۹۰ minutes, but the control group did not receive any intervention. Data were analyzed using analysis of covariance. The results showed that mindfulness therapy was effective on locus of control and nomophobia in adolescents with Internet addiction. Therefore, it can be said that mindfulness therapy can improve attachment styles, locus of control and nomophobia in adolescents with internet addiction.The present study was conducted to investigate the effect of mindfulness therapy on locus of control and nomophobia in adolescents with Internet addiction.
