چکیده مقاله:

Introduction: The purpose of this study was to compare the effectiveness of short-term and intensive dynamic psychotherapy (ISTDP) and maternal schema therapy on social anxiety in children aged ۵ to ۶ years in Shahinshahr. Methods: The research was applied in terms of purpose and semi-experimental (field) with pretest-posttest-follow-up design and control group. The study population consisted of all mothers of children aged ۵ to ۶ years with social anxiety in Shahinshahr in ۲۰۲۳, out of which ۴۵ were purposefully selected based on two standard deviations above the mean of social anxiety of the Spence Child Anxiety Questionnaire, parents form and other criteria, and were randomly assigned to two experimental and one control group (۱۵ each person). One experimental group received ۱۰ sessions of ۹۰ minutes schema therapy on a weekly basis, the second experimental group received ۱۰ sessions of ۹۰ minutes of short and intensive dynamic psychotherapy (ISTDP) weekly. But the control group did not receive any intervention. The research instrument was Spence Child Anxiety Questionnaire (۱۹۹۹) that were completed by mothers in three stages of pre-test, post-test and ۳-month follow-up. Data were analyzed using repeated measures ANOVA, mixed design and Bonferroni post hoc test. Results: The results showed that both treatments were effective in improving children's social anxiety, but the effectiveness of schema therapy was more effective in improving children's social anxiety (P<۰.۰۵) and the effectiveness of both treatments was stable. Conclusion: Both treatment methods and especially schema therapy of mothers are effective in improving children's social anxiety and can be used.Introduction: The purpose of this study was to compare the effectiveness of short-term and intensive dynamic psychotherapy (ISTDP) and maternal schema therapy on social anxiety in children aged ۵ to ۶ years in Shahinshahr.
