Nowadays, traditional systems in the field of route design and construction face numerous challenges due to poor infrastructure. Therefore, the use of advanced software in the analysis and initial design of routes can be extraordinary and challenging. The use of advanced software such as GIS in route design enhances accuracy and speed in work. In GIS platforms, the network database for route design is generally expanded through its linear reference system by integrating multiple sets of features and spatial data. This article focuses on route design using GIS software in the province of Fars, specifically the communication route between Nurabad and Kazerun. Additionally, the use of topography in route design allows access to various data and imagery that are used as references in the route design process. The aim of this research is to design an optimal route using logical slopes in GIS software that is both economically efficient and has a shorter distance between origin and destination. The results show that by considering various costs and environmental factors, Cost Distance analysis can determine the best and shortest route based on road construction conditions and requirements.
