The ability to model ratcheting behavior for metal is essential for design and performance assessmentof structure and engineering components subjected to cyclic loading. Up to date, several constitutivemodels were developed to simulate cyclic responses of metals. Finite element method has been widelyutilized, as the numerical tool, to describe cyclic behavior of metals in their realistic engineeringapplications. In this work, the Element Free Galerkin method is used to simulate rate-independentratcheting of metals. An implicit numerical framework is developed and the details of theimplementation procedure is described. A constitute model with multiple non-linear kinematichardening model is implemented. The abilities of the proposed formulation is examined by simulationrate-independent uniaxial ratcheting. The obtained numerical results is compared with experimentaldata for the stress-controlled loading condition. The comparison to the experimental resultsdemonstrates that the proposed framework can provide a reliable prediction of the material behaviorunder stress-controlled cyclic loading.
