Separation of Oil and paraffin wax from wastes of Isomax unite by a new andenvironmentally friendly method

The light oil molecules are produced by cracking of heavy oils in Isomax units at petrochemicalindustries. In this process heavy paraffin wax is created (as a byproduct) which is separated fromlighter hydrocarbon by filtration. Due to existence of high concentration of liquid oil ineliminated paraffin wax, it uses as an additive for various fuels. In this study the liquid oil wasextracted from the waste of Isomax units by water and soap at low temperature. The results ofthis study showed that the viscosity index, pour point and oil content of paraffin wax wereimproved after extraction.
